Make a Splash This Summer – Join the Cummins Pool Team!
August 25, 2026 • By Cummins & District Enterprise Committee
With summer just around the corner, the Cummins & District War Memorial Swimming Pool is getting ready for a planned November opening — and they’re looking for people to join the team!
Pool Operator Wanted
The Pool Committee is seeking a reliable person, or people, to take on the paid role of Pool Operator for the upcoming season. Training will be provided, and flexible hours are available. The role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in the community and wants to play an important part in keeping our local pool operating safely and smoothly.
Lifeguards Wanted
The pool is also looking for lifeguards for the upcoming season. This is a paid position, with shifts available during public opening hours, as well as additional opportunities for private functions. Applicants must:
-Be at least 16 years old
-Hold a current Lifeguard qualification, or be willing to undertake training
-Hold a current First Aid qualification, including CPR
-Be responsible and confident when it comes to patron safety
-Be willing to undertake some monitoring of pool pump and chemical systems
Training support is available, with Lifeguard training subsidised by the Committee for the right candidates. Whether you’re an experienced lifeguard, looking to gain your qualification, or interested in becoming a Pool Operator, the Committee would love to hear from you.

Get Involved!
The pool is an important part of the Cummins community, providing a place for locals and visitors to swim, exercise and enjoy the warmer months. With the new season approaching, now is the perfect time to get involved and help keep our pool open and thriving. The Pool Committee is also looking for new members! The Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 22 September at 7pm at the Pool Canteen, with new committee members warmly welcomed. If you’ve been thinking about getting involved in the pool, this could be the perfect opportunity to make a difference in our community.
